Welcome to TheGrio Heroes 2023

ABOUT

TheGrio Heroes are about the everyday Black heroes in our world. Some have been working unheralded for years and others are just emerging. What they all share is a determination to make a significant impact on our communities and humanity.

These individuals have demonstrated outstanding goodwill and achievements for the benefit and welfare of Black people, leading by example through service and solutions with compassion, dedication, and determination.

TheGrio Heroes will be selected during an online nominations process by our Grio community. Our community will tell us about the heroes in their community who impact and change lives every day.

There will be three rounds of judging from a select set of editorial and independent judges. Seven independent semi-final judges who are leaders and industry experts will select the top 10 honorees. The public will vote for a winner from the 10 honorees. TheGrio will amplify the winner's story and provide information on their work and how others can support them.
